Mammas Fall Picnic & Little Announcement

This past weekend was one to remember.

Saturday we didn’t do much we hung out at the house because babe decided to surprise us early in the morning. And we just wanted to spend some time with him even tough he slept most of the day because his trip back home was a long one. Him being there was enough the kids were happy so was i.

Then Sunday rolled. You see about a week or two ago a friend of mine put together a picnic. The guest would be moms and their kids from around the areat. The plan was to bring food, snacks and drinks. To hang out and let the kids play and most importantly get to know each other. To say i was nervous is understatement i was nervous wreck.

Missing a few mom’s, some had to leave early and this picture was taken towards the very end

I was nervous for no reason at all. The moms were so nice and welcoming. After we introduced ourselfves we just kinda starting talking to each other. It was not awkward  what so ever.

We continued to talk and talk, we ate some very delicious pizza and desserts. The kids were having blast! They were running wild, playing tag and being kids. Kason came to me at one point and said “I’m having so much fun mommy!” Brit did an amazing job picking out the location the playground was steps away from us easing our natural mother instinct to freak out when we lost our kid in the crowd of other little kids.

One of the moms is a photographer and she also has a blog which I will share down below. She was nice enough to take pictures of the kids and their mini little pumpkin patch.

She did such amazing job.

One of the things I loved about the get together was not only did i get to meet new moms I got to witness women coming together. Even though most of us knew eachother through instagram it seemed like we all clicked.  I had a great time meeting these ladies and their kids. We are planning to get together again next month. And hopefully friendships grow from our little get togethers.

Before I wrap this up I want to share a hilarious picture of Kamilah…please don’t mind her lol she is something else

Kids Fall Staple Shoes

Fall is finally here and you know what that means…

N E W W A R D R O B E!!

Okay maybe not like a whole new one but you know add a few new items here and there, a girl can only dream. I think this is the part that I look forward to the most when the seasons change adding new pieces to my collection and watching my style change..which hasn’t changed at all. But you know whats best than adding to your wardrobe??

Adding to your kis(s) and dressing them in all the cute new clothes!! But this trip we took the our local stores I was on the hunt for shoes. For specific Fall staple pieces. I wanted to get the boys a boot or some oxford kind of shoes and for Kami I was specifically looking for ankle boots.

And I completed our mission and scored a few deals using RetailMeNot. Some of the stores were having deals so I was in heaven. I got them shirts and other little essentials but I wanted to show case what I broke my back for lol.

Like seriously I had a tiny heart attack every single time I saw what I was looking for its like the shoe gods were on my side or something.

Okay so I wont be stingy or whatever, I will be sharing where I got each pair of shoes. Because I want y’alls kids to look fab too! I say this because I feel like some people don’t like sharing where they get certain items from for whatever reason….

shoes 1

This pair is for Kason. I was originally going to get them from the stores website but I am so glad I didn’t it! I got a little discount and I did not have to wait for them to be delivered. I feel like this pair will go with so many things I can dress him up or dress him down. They’re very versatile if you ask me.

Store: Kids GAP

shoes 2

So this pair is obviously for Ms. Kami! When I saw them I just had to get them there was no leaving them behind. Sadly I did not get a discount because the store didn’t have any sales or coupons out there. But beauty is pain (even in the pockets) I love the color and just the overall look. She owns a pair of pink combat boots from the same store and I can tell you guys that they still look brand new.

Store: The Childrens Place

shoes 3

This pair is for Noah, now I feel like these compare to Kasons are a bit different. I know they may look very similar but they give out very different vibes….makes sense? Maybe not but I don’t know they’re slightly different. Same as Kason’s they will go with a lot of outfits.

Store: Tommy Hilfiger

shoes 4

Last but certainly not least, these babies where exactly what I was looking for! I have been online searching for boots just like this since last month and I’ve had no luck, until now. I almost bumped into a couple trying to get to them so yes the struggle was real. I have no idea why I was even rushing to get to them because the rack was full of them but in my mind I thought otherwise. Anyways I cannot wait for her to wear them. The store where I got them from had so many cute clothes and shoes. I was impress.

Store: Crazy 8

I am not done I wan to get the boys another pair, so I will be back on hunt soon. I am also planning on getting basic shirts and cute jackets so we can layer them.

I’m so excited and cant wait for the kids to wear them, be on the lookout for pictures. Hope you all enjoyed this little post

There’s a reason

When I first started this blog my intention was to solely focus on motherhood which is what I know and something that holds a big chunk of my heart. But with time that has changed a bit.’

I’ve been reading a book called Craving Connection by (in)courage community (this is spiritual book by the way)  so far I have read two chapters but they have opened up and validated a lot of stuff that I have been feeling.

The first two chapters talk about the fear that us as humans have to try new things because we fear failure. But what we need to realize is that we grow through things that may ask us to step out of the box here and there. We love our comfort zone and settle for it. And sometimes we miss the door that He himself has set up specially for us. I see a lot of successful blogs who are know to speak about one topic and hey more power to them if it works for them. As long as they are happy then hey. That’s not me though I love to talk about different things.

So when it comes to blogging my biggest fear is what people might say or think..eerr rejection if you will. Which has kind of made me stick to my home…mommy life. But as you guys see I rarely post because to be completely honest sometimes I don’t feel like talking about motherhood.

I say all this to get to this.. I want my blog to be more than just a mom blog I want it to reflect who I am not just when I’m in a mommy mode but me as an individual. Yes my kids play a B I G role in my story but theres more to me. And honestly sometimes I just want to go on random rants but feel like it wont go with my T H E M E. Which honestly isn’t a theme at all just saying. Sometimes the thought of me posting something not mom related or kid related scares the crap out of me.

So from here on out I will be talking about what I want…yes I will still share my experience as a mother because that’s the biggest role I play but I will also be sharing the spotlight with the other roles as well. I will just be adding a few things into the mix just adding a little bit of sass to the sauce you know?!

I created this blog for me and I want it to be place where I can be M E

Since I started reading this book I want to write about the chapters that speak to me the most, so be on the look out for those. I will try to get on a schedule but I wont promise anything lets just go with the flow for now.

Baby steps y’all baby steps…

20170908_180921

So lets start off with the candy because that’s the best part right. Let me just say that Welchs has done it again! They were delicious, yes were because we demolished them the minute after I posted the picture on Instagram.

20170908_180935

Next we have Balance Nutrition Bar, it is cookie dough flavored so yyuumm. I haven’t tried it yet but I will tomorrow so I’ll be sure to post about it on either Instagram or twitter. But I mean who doesn’t love cookie flavored snacks.

20170908_180928

I’m excited to try this hair mask from Eva NYC, because I’ve never used one to begin with and because my hair definitely needs it.

20170908_180942

Origins Anti-agin Power Serum, I’ve honestly never used any serum. But I’ve heard wonderful things. So I’m excited as well I have yet to find any rinkles but hey a girl can never start too early. It’s a two week trial sample so it should last me a while.

20170908_180914

I’m personally a tea kind of gal. So when this baby was the first thing on top I almost died. I’ve heard wonderful things about FitTea but always hesitated to buy because “what if doesn’t work” thoughts always came to kind. Anyways so now that I have this free sample which by the way is not a sample at all it this bag retails for $25 dollars. It has individual tea bags and it’s a 14 day detox. I’ve already completed two days so far. The tea is very good people say they taste ginger i however taste the lemon which is an ingredient. I drink the tea early in the morning but I’m going to start taking it before I work out. I add honey instead of sugar by the way.

20170908_180958

I also got a few coupons just in case I want to purchase some more of the products mentioned above.

I am so happy to have gotten these products and I will keep you guys updated on how I liked the products I haven’t tried yet. So follow me on Instagram or Twitter.

A Weekend With Us: The Zoo and Another Lazy Sunday

The crew and I took a trip to the zoo this past Saturday. It was great! The kids were so into the animals and asking so many questions. They were seriously amazed to see all the animals and to be so close in personal if you will. Kason and Noah walked the whole zoo while Ms. Diva (Kamilah) chose to take the easy route and sit in her stroller..she’s smart.

20170812_103449

We saw a show where they let birds fly all around, it was neat show. I mean I was blown away when a bird flew and took money off a guys hand (donation), and bring him back a bracelet. We also got the chance to feed the giraffes which was my F A V O R I T E !

20170812_121437

Besides it being like 90 something we enjoyed ourselves. Needless to say when we got home we all took a much needed nap.

20170812_113316

Sunday was another pretty relaxed day. We watched movies most of the day and went grocery shopping once the sun went down a bit.

20170813_121708

Our weekends have been pretty relaxed for the past week or so, because we are trying to adjust to a small change made to our little family.

The kids start school soon so I plan on doing a little individual interview with the boys, to see how they feel about it.

A Weekend With Us: School supply Shopping and Lazy Sundays

I’ve survived it! Yes the most dreaded time of the year well at least for me anyways…school supply shopping (insert suspenseful music here) Okay I’m not totally lying I love it. This is the first time that I shop for two kids. And to my surprise it was kinda easy! Kasons list consisted mostly of arts and crafts stuff while Noah’s got to the needy greedy rulers, erasers and all those fun supplies.

20170805_124917.jpg

I didnt get a few things on both lists so I’ll have to go back and look around for the few supplies we are missing. One of them being Manila paper, each school year it N E V E R F R E A K I N G fails. My next mission is uniform and shoe shopping, now this is the one thing I really dislike. My kids are very weird when it comes to clothes, the sizes vary. This is especially true with Kasom he is a very petite boy his waist is our problem. I looked around while I was getting their supplies but no luck so hopefully we have better luck this time around.

So after our Saturday fiasco our Sunday was pretty mellow. We stayed in our pjs and took naps throughout the day. After waking up from my nap I noticed that the kids had been inside all day and then I remembered I bought them some chalk so I decided to let them go out on the balcony and draw. Let me just tell y’all that it was S U P E R hot outside today. Texas heat is no joke! They had fun even if we only lasted 30 mins.

20170806_161935

We then ordered Cheddars and chilled, until bed time.

That was our weekend, nothing too exciting. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and hope that your week is just as amazing.

Repping World 101: How To Get Started

I am not too sure if I have shared this or not but Kamilah is a rep for small shops. You’re probably asking your self “what’s a brand rep”, “what does a brand rep do?” and “how can my child become one?”

To answer the first and second question in one a brand rep is somebody who represents a brand and promotes it on social media by taking awesome pictures show casing their work. Sometimes you will be sharing discounts the shop is having as well. In return you will get very good discount and sometimes you will get free items. It all depends on the shop.

IMG_20170715_185931_300

It’s like your child becomes a model over night and you are now a mommager, I’ve always wanted to say that!

IMG_20170608_072258_476

You will be surprise on how easy it is to become a brand rep. Usually the small shop will hold a bran rep search/enthusiast search. To enter you will usually have to repost the contest picture and then under that picture they will ask you to say why you would like your child to be a rep for the shop. They will also ask for you to say a few things about you child, like their age and personality. Then the shop will go through all the entries and pick their rep team. The size of the teams depends on the shop owner and sometimes she will have different categories. Some shops will start you off as brand fans and you can move up from there.

IMG_20170622_114211_501

Dont get discourage if your baby doesn’t get chosen, it’s nothing against them, keep trying. Kamilah didn’t get picked for the first couple of times I entered her into rep searches. And at first I was like “okay I’m done” but I had to remind myself that we had just started this journey. Kamilah  was finally chosen to be a brand fan for a small shop called leolaskybows. We are still repping for her and we recently became brand enthusiast this past rep search.

We’ve been repping for almost 6 months now and I love it. I try to stick with bows and clothes but there so many stuff you can rep. I’ve met a lot of awesome mom’s and met some of the sweetest shop owners. I love that me and Kamilah can be a part of helping their shops grow. That’s what all this is about helping a shop grow and empowering other women! And I am all for that.
