I’ve always had a healthy love for Christmas, I mean after all “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!” But I think my love for it has escalated a few notches. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m getting a little older/a little wiser or just simply Pinterest! (Shrugs) the point is I love it a little more now!
My home smells like Christmas it’s semi Christmas looking, it could improve but, hey I tried! So I mean what else could we do to make us get a little more into the holiday….uummm….do Christmasy related activities. I used my bestfriemd google and searched for events around me and I found the perfect one. It was going to be hosted in a park near my moms house and the activities they were having really sold me. I was in!
The kids, mom, and I made our way to this little festival early Saturday and it was my mission to make sure the kiddos had an amazing time.
Ladies and gentleman welcome to Christmas in the park!
The first thing Noah noticed was the swat team truck, so that was our first stop. He got to meet some of the swat team and he also got to put on the vest they use (they held it up because ya know it’s a little heavy) Kamilah was interested as well she got to wear their helmet and was also carried by one of the gentleman. And shared a few words with him. Kason was not so in to it, so he just stood by mom waiting for Noah.
Dont mind Kamilah lol she felt so cool even though her knot got in the way. Once Noah was done asking questions we headed over to the bouncy houses they had. And let me tell you they had bunch! They decided to tackle the obstacle bouncy house first, it was brother against brother. At first i wasn’t to sure Kason would be able to do it but her surprised me. When the girl supervising yelled “go!” Kason took of running and jumped right in to action. Noah won but Kason was able to finish it all by himself so he was happy and Noah greeted him with a high five when he came ttumbling down the slide.
They wanted to continue the jump house madness, but I told them that we needed to do other things and that we could jump later. With a little hesitation they followed my lead the played few games and won candies and little random toys here and there.
Thats when i spotted it you guys! The best part of the whole festival..
THE PETTING ZOO!
Y’all I nearly lost my mind. I love animals but specially farm animals, my dad and brother own horses and I go see them every chance I get. My grandma has a bunch of farm animals so they have been a part of my up bringing. Anyways he boys and I went while my mom took Kamilah to ride the ponies. She loves horses and she isn’t afraid to ride them. She met us at the petting zoo soon after. I need to be honest I was trying to think of a master plan to kind of “borrow” this little cute pig, Noah on the other hand was trying to convince me not to. party pooper..the pig stayed just in case you’re wondering. They had bunnies, chickens, geese’s, goats, cows, a donkey, a long horn and sheeps. Ahh i think I enjoyed it more than the kids.
I left the petting zoo without my little pig friend and we made our way to the arts and craft area. Where the kids ate some cookies, wrote on chalkboard and made a Santa Claus ornament. They had a few other tables for the kids but it was getting a little late and Kamilah was so sleepy but refused to go to sleep. So we didn’t get to make more arts and crafts. The kids didn’t really mind they were happy with their Santa Claus ornament.
And that was basically our day at Christmas in the park!
And I knew my mission was accomplished when Noah said “you’re the best mom ever”
until next time
