Christmas in the Park 2017

I’ve always had a healthy love for Christmas, I mean after all  “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!”  But I think my love for it has escalated a few notches. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m getting a little older/a little wiser or just simply Pinterest! (Shrugs) the point is I love it a little more now!

My home smells like Christmas it’s semi Christmas looking, it could improve but, hey I tried! So I mean what else could we do to make us get a little more into the holiday….uummm….do Christmasy related activities. I used my bestfriemd google and searched for events around me and I found the perfect one. It was going to be hosted in a park near my moms house and the activities they were having really sold me. I was in!

The kids, mom, and I made our way to this little festival early Saturday and it was my mission to make sure the kiddos had an amazing time.

Ladies and gentleman welcome to Christmas in the park!

The first thing Noah noticed was the swat team truck, so that was our first stop. He got to meet some of the swat team and he also got to put on the vest they use (they held it up because ya know it’s a little heavy) Kamilah was interested as well she got to wear their helmet and was also carried by one of the gentleman. And shared a few words with him. Kason was not so in to it, so he just stood by mom waiting for Noah.

Dont mind Kamilah lol she felt so cool even though her knot got in the way. Once Noah was done asking questions we headed over to the bouncy houses they had. And let me tell you they had bunch! They decided to tackle the obstacle bouncy house first, it was brother against brother. At first i wasn’t to sure Kason would be able to do it but her surprised me. When the girl supervising yelled “go!” Kason took of running and jumped right in to action. Noah won but Kason was able to finish it all by himself so he was happy and Noah greeted him with a high five when he came ttumbling down the slide.

They wanted to continue the jump house madness, but I told them that we needed to do other things and that we could jump later. With a little hesitation they followed my lead the played few games and won candies and little random toys here and there.

Thats when i spotted it you guys! The best part of the whole festival..

THE PETTING ZOO!

Y’all I nearly lost my mind. I love animals but specially farm animals, my dad and brother own horses and I go see them every chance I get. My grandma has a bunch of farm animals so they have been a part of my up bringing. Anyways he boys and I went while my mom took Kamilah to ride the ponies. She loves horses and she isn’t afraid to ride them. She met us at the petting zoo soon after. I need to be honest I was trying to think of a master plan to kind of “borrow” this little cute pig, Noah on the other hand was trying to convince me not to. party pooper..the pig stayed just in case you’re wondering. They had bunnies, chickens, geese’s, goats, cows, a donkey, a long horn and sheeps. Ahh i think I enjoyed it more than the kids.

I left the petting zoo without my little pig friend and we made our way to the arts and craft area. Where the kids ate some cookies, wrote on chalkboard and made a Santa Claus ornament. They had a few other tables for the kids but it was getting a little late and Kamilah was so sleepy but refused to go to sleep. So we didn’t get to make more arts and crafts. The kids didn’t really mind they were happy with their Santa Claus ornament.

And that was basically our day at Christmas in the park!

And I knew my mission was accomplished when Noah said “you’re the best mom ever”

until next time

Thanksgiving 2017

This Thanksgiving was a bit different for us all. I usually spend holidays with T’s family but since he’s out of town working I figured I would spend some VERY much needed time with my parents.

20171122233054

Out day started out with some coffee for my mom and tea for me, we talked a little and then we began to prep the turkey. Yes, we waited till the day off to prep I know a lot of people prep the turkey and some even cook it the night before but not us..no ma’am we like to do things last minute. Which leads me to my next point we then went to Walmart to get some last minute stuff.

This year I was actually in charge of cooking, in th past years I only showed up to eat lol. So my mom asked me to make some ribs, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, and dessert. I did well on 3/4 and I’m being super honest, the dessert sucked….

We got done cooking around four o’clock or so and we all ate except my dad, he wasn’t hungry. Let me tell y’all the food was delicious if I do I say myself. What made me even more happy was the fact that my family liked the food. I don’t always cook traditional Mexican dishes so to know that liked my cooking made my heart so happy.

After eating my mom and I made the craziest decision of L I F E and decided to make our war to Target because she said the sweaters were ten dollars. Which I would like make clear that not all of them were! But ya know we made the best of it. We did get a few items and the line was crazy but not that crazy. I thought it would be much worse but it was pretty calm. I didn’t have luck finding Kamilah or Noah anything, but I did get Kason a cardigan and two shirts. I got myself two basic T-shirts and one sweater and my mom got two sweaters I believe.

I loved spending time with my parents I took a few pictures here and there but I was trying to be in the moment. Noah won’t be in none of them because every Thanksgiving he goes to his dad house to celebrate with his other family.

20171123_170004.jpg

Even tough my little family wasn’t together I want to say that I am very thankful for them. We may have not been together but we all spent our holiday with people we love. I cannot wait to see how Christmas turns out for us this year. We already have our Christmas tree up and the kids will begin doing their little DIY projects this weekend since Noah is back from his dads’ yaaayyyy!

Until next time

Kamilah is T W O ! !

20171014_095243

Kamilah Savannah-Maree is T W O years old guys!! Where did time go? Like no seriously where did it all go?!?! I can vividly remember the day I had her. And I think that’s the day that I was truly complete. She’s seriously the best part of me. She might not look like me but when she was born there was something there that reminded me of me. And my dad has validated that time after time, he’s told me that he sees me in her. I’m not sure what it is yet but little quirks about her remind me about me.

She is for sure the better me shes a lot more funny than me, prettier, smarter, and a lot more brave than me. She is a ball of sass, ask anybody. But with the sass she has a little sweet and loveable side to her and when you get to see that side it just melts your heart. She is a hugger she loves to hug and they come at such random times which makes them 20 times better. Her personality is starting to shine brighter than before. She loves books, she would rip them apart at first but now she’ll just sit around and look through the pages. She is definitely a little book worm in the making like her mamma. I can go on and on about Ms. Kamilah but let me just say this…

20171014_094818

To my now two year old..

I love you more than you will ever know. And I wish you would stop growing and just stay little forever. But that’s just wishful thinking. As you continue to grow i hope that God gives me the tools and knowledge to help you grow into the person you need to be. I hope you continue to be who you are. Because you are pretty dang awesome! I hope you continue to pinch my nose and say “toot toot” everytime. I hope and pray that you know just how love you really are and just how much of blessing you are to your dad and I.

Happy Birthday

20171014_093253

October 15 started out like any other Sunday. I made breakfast and we sat around and watched movies until we had to leave to our destination. Now I went back and forth between making her a party or just having something small with family. I chose to just have something small for her and go all out next year for her third birthday.

We went to Gattis, which is an arcade for both little and big kids. We had an amazing time. The boys went crazy and played just about every game. Kamilah played what she could and just ran all over the place. Which is when I realized that my choice of shoes was probably not the best decision made. Needless to say it didn’t really matter becauae Kami enjoyed herself.

20171015_154300

20171015_155235

20171015_160415

We played for about two hours before we sat down, ate a little more and then brought out the cakes and opened up gifts. We got two cakes because Noahs birthday was in August and we were unable to throw him a party and I knew he kinda felt left out. Oh and by the way they totally butchered Kamis name, we just scratched out and went on. So we sang happy birthday to both of them at the same time. The funniest thing happened when Kamilah blew her candles I guess she wasn’t to sure on how to feel once the candle went out because she had a confuse look on her face soon after. Kason took the initiative to smash into Noahs cake like it was his birthday lol but we didn’t mind they were just having fun and Noah thought it was the funny.

20171015_165636

20171015_165555

After the boys got cleaned and all tidy up it was time to open up gifts! Wwoohhoo!

20171015_151644

Noah got a watch that I forgot to take a picture of it but he was so happy. He loves watches even tough he rarely wears them.

Kamilah got a necklace that I again forgot to take a picture of but it is the cutest thing ever! She also got her beloved Trolls, a Troll little house and a my little pony toy.

20171015_170825

20171015_170922

She was over the moon with her toys. I don’t know if she’ll remember this day or not but I know she had a great time. She was surrounded by people who truly love and care for her and that something that I will cherish for her.

And again sweet girl happy birthday and I love you sssoo much!!!!

Mammas Fall Picnic & Little Announcement

This past weekend was one to remember.

Saturday we didn’t do much we hung out at the house because babe decided to surprise us early in the morning. And we just wanted to spend some time with him even tough he slept most of the day because his trip back home was a long one. Him being there was enough the kids were happy so was i.

Then Sunday rolled. You see about a week or two ago a friend of mine put together a picnic. The guest would be moms and their kids from around the areat. The plan was to bring food, snacks and drinks. To hang out and let the kids play and most importantly get to know each other. To say i was nervous is understatement i was nervous wreck.

20171009_193028
Missing a few mom’s, some had to leave early and this picture was taken towards the very end

I was nervous for no reason at all. The moms were so nice and welcoming. After we introduced ourselfves we just kinda starting talking to each other. It was not awkward  what so ever.

We continued to talk and talk, we ate some very delicious pizza and desserts. The kids were having blast! They were running wild, playing tag and being kids. Kason came to me at one point and said “I’m having so much fun mommy!” Brit did an amazing job picking out the location the playground was steps away from us easing our natural mother instinct to freak out when we lost our kid in the crowd of other little kids.

One of the moms is a photographer and she also has a blog which I will share down below. She was nice enough to take pictures of the kids and their mini little pumpkin patch.

20171009_213308.png

 20171009_213447

She did such amazing job.

20171009_213522

One of the things I loved about the get together was not only did i get to meet new moms I got to witness women coming together. Even though most of us knew eachother through instagram it seemed like we all clicked.  I had a great time meeting these ladies and their kids. We are planning to get together again next month. And hopefully friendships grow from our little get togethers.

Before I wrap this up I want to share a hilarious picture of Kamilah…please don’t mind her lol she is something else

20171009_213608

And I also wanted to say

Thank You! Sheislittlebutfierce.com has reached 100 followers!!! I know the numbers don’t mean anything just as long as I’m doing what I love but this is big to me. So thank you so much for making my day!

A Weekend With Us: Mothers Day Weekend

Mothers day weekend was an overall very calm weekend. Nothing too exciting happened on Friday I was with my mom for most of the afternoon until I rembered I had to clean the apartment. When I made it to my apartment I watched Gossip Girl for the majority of time before I doze off and found myself waking up at 2 in the morning.

Saturday I woke up and started cleaning, I have found myself cleaning just for the heck of it lately. I finished by around 1 in the afternoon it took me a while becauae I was taking breaks lol. Anyways i then made my way to mom’s house to wash and spend some more time with her. Oh I took some awesome pictures of Kamilah.

I mean the girl has style right?! She loves her denim jacket, which I still haven’t decorated.

Sunday, started off slow I kinda slept in. We ate  breakfast and then we went out to wait for it….Ripleys believe it or not! Yes we went there for mothers day. I thought it would be a fun experience for the kids and boy was I wrong.

The boys were terrified lol they wanted out by the second room we visited. They were okay after we entered the kid friendly area. So take my advice don’t take your 8 or 3 year old thinking they will be excited to see a one face two bodied goat because nine times out of ten they won’t. I thought it was cool, but maybe that’s the weird in me after all we went to weirdest place for Mothers Day.

Come on they had a vampire killing kit and a Katy Perry picture what more can you ask for. We then went to El Chicos which was crazy because Kamilah wanted to be all over the place. The food was good I will admit.

When we made it home we decided to take the kids to the pool and that’s basically where my mothers day ends. The kids had fun at the pool, Kamilah was having the time of her life.

It was nice weekend but maybe next mothers day we’ll be a little more organized, because all of our activities were out of the blue.

I hope all you mom’s out there had an amazing weekend!

A Weekend with Us: Family pictures, discovering the city, and etc.

I’m going to start this new series called “weekend behavior” or maybe a “weekend with us” (help me decide) but anyways where I share what me and the kids do during the weekend. I won’t promise every weekend because sometimes we just stay home in our pajamas and watch movies all day.

But this weekend was a pretty exciting one! We took family pictures on Saturday, which was awesome. The location we went to was perfect, it went with the whole vibe I was going for. Which was very casual and earthy.

20170506_092138.jpg

The kids did great, they were a bit all over the place because it was a park so it was an open field full of fun for them. We got a few smiles and a few shots of them running away typical picture of ours.

20170506_093330.jpg

Afterwards we went to the mall near by to grab a quick bite to eat and made some room for the Marry go round.

20170506_125640

We then went home and got laundry out the way, you know because laundry is the best chore next to cleaning the kitchen (sarcasm)

On Sunday we originally didn’t have anything planned, but we ended up exploring Deep Ellum with the kids.

We had lunch at “easy sliders”, which was delicious we make it our mission to try new things every time we go out and this was definitely something new.

Their loaded taters were my favorite along with their banana pudding! The sliders were so tiny and cute, when she described them as crabby patties she was telling the truth.

We then took some pictures of the kids because Deep Elum has so many murals on the walls it’s crazy! And they have a lot of neat stores too!

20170507_123523

20170507_124648.jpg

We also visited Carlos Bakery!

20170507_133023

After our family adventure we went home and took a much needed nap.

This weekend was one of my favorites for sure, so many pictures were taken and so many memories were made.
