A Little Update

This blog won’t be full of cute activities and kiddos, but I just really have to share some stuff with you all..nothing bad if anything they’re great news.

First thing is I did it you guys! I wrapped up the presents and they are somewhat neatly under the tree. The kids have been okay with them I haven’t caught them trying to open them up. I also put up their little DIY ornaments and the tree is now complete.

Second thing on the agenda, I don’t know if I have ever talked about it or not but I did go to college to become an MA but due to work and my schedule changing I was unable to finish. But during my journey I also took classes to get certified as a billing and coding specialist and since I only had to take the test to be certified I decided to go head and take it. I took it Nov 18th and those 5 hours and 45 mins were the longest hours of life!! Anyways long story short I didn’t pass. I must say that I was a bit sad but I have another shot at it before I have to pay again. So I will be going back to school to retake my exam review class. And I plan on taking my test again in March, so wish me luck.

Last but certainly not L E A S T, I will be making a few changes to my blog. The biggest change being the name of my blog! Yyeessss I will be changing it, don’t get me wrong I love the name I have now but I feel like it’s time for a change. I promise I won’t be changing it ever again, it will be something simple and something easy to remember. The look of my blog will be changing also and a few little things here and there. This change will happen sometime after Christmas.

And I will also be adding new things to my blog content wise. I’ve been running a few little polls on Twitter seeing what you guys are interested in. And I’m so excited!!

I cannot wait to share this new change with you guys!

Until next time

Thanksgiving 2017

This Thanksgiving was a bit different for us all. I usually spend holidays with T’s family but since he’s out of town working I figured I would spend some VERY much needed time with my parents.

20171122233054

Out day started out with some coffee for my mom and tea for me, we talked a little and then we began to prep the turkey. Yes, we waited till the day off to prep I know a lot of people prep the turkey and some even cook it the night before but not us..no ma’am we like to do things last minute. Which leads me to my next point we then went to Walmart to get some last minute stuff.

This year I was actually in charge of cooking, in th past years I only showed up to eat lol. So my mom asked me to make some ribs, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, and dessert. I did well on 3/4 and I’m being super honest, the dessert sucked….

We got done cooking around four o’clock or so and we all ate except my dad, he wasn’t hungry. Let me tell y’all the food was delicious if I do I say myself. What made me even more happy was the fact that my family liked the food. I don’t always cook traditional Mexican dishes so to know that liked my cooking made my heart so happy.

After eating my mom and I made the craziest decision of L I F E and decided to make our war to Target because she said the sweaters were ten dollars. Which I would like make clear that not all of them were! But ya know we made the best of it. We did get a few items and the line was crazy but not that crazy. I thought it would be much worse but it was pretty calm. I didn’t have luck finding Kamilah or Noah anything, but I did get Kason a cardigan and two shirts. I got myself two basic T-shirts and one sweater and my mom got two sweaters I believe.

I loved spending time with my parents I took a few pictures here and there but I was trying to be in the moment. Noah won’t be in none of them because every Thanksgiving he goes to his dad house to celebrate with his other family.

Even tough my little family wasn’t together I want to say that I am very thankful for them. We may have not been together but we all spent our holiday with people we love. I cannot wait to see how Christmas turns out for us this year. We already have our Christmas tree up and the kids will begin doing their little DIY projects this weekend since Noah is back from his dads’ yaaayyyy!

Until next time

Thursday-Sunday

I’m a bit late on this post but it wasn’t on purpose. I schedules this post to go up on Saturday morning but it didn’t post for some reason. But better late than never…

Thursday

I went to my first concert ever! Yes I’m 25 (almost 26) I have never been to one. I was both happy and nervous to go, happy because I would finally be seeing H.E.R but extra nervous because I would be going by myself, cause none of my friends know who she is and also it was on Thursday night.

When I got to the venue there was already a line but not a really long one. By the way do you guys know how awkward it is to walk pass a bunch of people in small groups and they’re just staring at you while you walk by?? Umm freaking awkward.

IMG_20171117_100519_587.jpg

I stood in line for maybe 40 mins before they started letting us in. Skipped a few people because they didn’t have their tickets together, once I got in the venue I made sure to get a water because I was pretty close to the stage and the bar was a mile away (not really) but I wasn’t too sure if the venue would get really crowded. I was surrounded by the same people who were either right behind me or in front of me so we started making small talk. You know trying to pass time..

20171116_191138

The show started around 8:30 pm with Tiara Thomas opening up. I totally forgot to mention that both artist are RnB singers. That was my first time ever hearing Tiara but her voice was amazing.

20171116_201028

Then it happened H.E.R came out! The show was everything I could’ve ever imagined it to be, if not more. We were all singing with one another and it was just such a great time. I have so many videos of the concert that I had to delete a few pictures while I was recording because I was running out of memory. It was a night to remember for sure!

20171116_211440

If you guys have never listened to H.E.R please do, this girl is beyond talented.

Friday

Friday wasn’t suppose to happen the way that it did. The plan was to run a few errands with my mom and go buy our tickets for the circus for Saturday night. Wwweell we decided last minute to go Friday afternoon because the tickets would be a little cheaper on opening night.

20171117_143256.jpg

We only had about 30 mins to make it back before they opened up the doors. So as soon as the kids made it back from school which to my surprise I got a little turkey in return in stead of Kason

20171117_153300

We didn’t give them time to take their shoes off because we ran out the door. I don’t know why were even rushing if the rodeo is right around the corner from my moms house and we were still late. We were able to score some really good seats and I was able to snap a few pictures of the kids with the clowns. Win win for everybody!

Kason and Noah were so happy to be there while Ms. Kamilah wasn’t even worried about anything going on around. Nothing out of the norm she’s usually like that. If it doesn’t have to do with Trolls, Minnie Mouse, or any other character she likes she doesn’t care.

20171117_162144.jpg

I haven’t been to a circus since I was a little girl so I was pretty entertained not so much with the animals for my own reasons, but I was having a blast watching the clowns. Yes I was really laughing my pants off while the kids were looking at me like I was out of this world.

20171117_162942.jpg

20171117_161742

I mean she was pretty much done before it even started…

Saturday

This was the day I had been dreading for over a year or so. I took my CPC test on this day and i won’t know my test results until some time next week I believe. The test was five hours and forty minutes I was so exhausted by the time I got out that I just wanted to go home and sleep. Which I did, the rest of the was very calm and chill.

Sunday

Another calm day, my mom, kids, and I went to Michaels to get ribbon for my Christmas tree and as soon as we walked in we saw the craft table! They were letting the kids decorate their own ornament(s) I grabbed my ribbon and bought the kids their clear ornaments and we made our way to the table of manny possibilities.

Kamis 1st Rep Photoshoot

I wanted to share with you all a few pictures of Kamis first rep photoshoot. Although we don’t officially rep for this store we love it and support it 100%.

It’s a local small shop owned and ran by one of my friends from middle school! So when she contacted me to see if I would like to collab with her when she first opened her shop i immidietly said yes! Why wouldn’t I!?!? She contacted me about doing a photoshoot for an upcoming Christmas release and I was like “yyyaaasss sign me up”. I really didn’ say that but the excitement was real y’all!

It was such a delight to work with Ashley (photographer) and Enor (shop owner) and I like that they are both helping each other grow. And I admire them because they are running their own business which is very empowering. And I’m glad that Kamilah and I get play a little role in it.

Kamilah is T W O ! !

20171014_095243

Kamilah Savannah-Maree is T W O years old guys!! Where did time go? Like no seriously where did it all go?!?! I can vividly remember the day I had her. And I think that’s the day that I was truly complete. She’s seriously the best part of me. She might not look like me but when she was born there was something there that reminded me of me. And my dad has validated that time after time, he’s told me that he sees me in her. I’m not sure what it is yet but little quirks about her remind me about me.

She is for sure the better me shes a lot more funny than me, prettier, smarter, and a lot more brave than me. She is a ball of sass, ask anybody. But with the sass she has a little sweet and loveable side to her and when you get to see that side it just melts your heart. She is a hugger she loves to hug and they come at such random times which makes them 20 times better. Her personality is starting to shine brighter than before. She loves books, she would rip them apart at first but now she’ll just sit around and look through the pages. She is definitely a little book worm in the making like her mamma. I can go on and on about Ms. Kamilah but let me just say this…

20171014_094818

To my now two year old..

I love you more than you will ever know. And I wish you would stop growing and just stay little forever. But that’s just wishful thinking. As you continue to grow i hope that God gives me the tools and knowledge to help you grow into the person you need to be. I hope you continue to be who you are. Because you are pretty dang awesome! I hope you continue to pinch my nose and say “toot toot” everytime. I hope and pray that you know just how love you really are and just how much of blessing you are to your dad and I.

Happy Birthday

20171014_093253

October 15 started out like any other Sunday. I made breakfast and we sat around and watched movies until we had to leave to our destination. Now I went back and forth between making her a party or just having something small with family. I chose to just have something small for her and go all out next year for her third birthday.

We went to Gattis, which is an arcade for both little and big kids. We had an amazing time. The boys went crazy and played just about every game. Kamilah played what she could and just ran all over the place. Which is when I realized that my choice of shoes was probably not the best decision made. Needless to say it didn’t really matter becauae Kami enjoyed herself.

20171015_154300

20171015_155235

20171015_160415

We played for about two hours before we sat down, ate a little more and then brought out the cakes and opened up gifts. We got two cakes because Noahs birthday was in August and we were unable to throw him a party and I knew he kinda felt left out. Oh and by the way they totally butchered Kamis name, we just scratched out and went on. So we sang happy birthday to both of them at the same time. The funniest thing happened when Kamilah blew her candles I guess she wasn’t to sure on how to feel once the candle went out because she had a confuse look on her face soon after. Kason took the initiative to smash into Noahs cake like it was his birthday lol but we didn’t mind they were just having fun and Noah thought it was the funny.

20171015_165636

20171015_165555

After the boys got cleaned and all tidy up it was time to open up gifts! Wwoohhoo!

20171015_151644

Noah got a watch that I forgot to take a picture of it but he was so happy. He loves watches even tough he rarely wears them.

Kamilah got a necklace that I again forgot to take a picture of but it is the cutest thing ever! She also got her beloved Trolls, a Troll little house and a my little pony toy.

20171015_170825

20171015_170922

She was over the moon with her toys. I don’t know if she’ll remember this day or not but I know she had a great time. She was surrounded by people who truly love and care for her and that something that I will cherish for her.

And again sweet girl happy birthday and I love you sssoo much!!!!

Mammas Fall Picnic & Little Announcement

This past weekend was one to remember.

Saturday we didn’t do much we hung out at the house because babe decided to surprise us early in the morning. And we just wanted to spend some time with him even tough he slept most of the day because his trip back home was a long one. Him being there was enough the kids were happy so was i.

Then Sunday rolled. You see about a week or two ago a friend of mine put together a picnic. The guest would be moms and their kids from around the areat. The plan was to bring food, snacks and drinks. To hang out and let the kids play and most importantly get to know each other. To say i was nervous is understatement i was nervous wreck.

20171009_193028
Missing a few mom’s, some had to leave early and this picture was taken towards the very end

I was nervous for no reason at all. The moms were so nice and welcoming. After we introduced ourselfves we just kinda starting talking to each other. It was not awkward  what so ever.

We continued to talk and talk, we ate some very delicious pizza and desserts. The kids were having blast! They were running wild, playing tag and being kids. Kason came to me at one point and said “I’m having so much fun mommy!” Brit did an amazing job picking out the location the playground was steps away from us easing our natural mother instinct to freak out when we lost our kid in the crowd of other little kids.

One of the moms is a photographer and she also has a blog which I will share down below. She was nice enough to take pictures of the kids and their mini little pumpkin patch.

20171009_213308.png

 20171009_213447

She did such amazing job.

20171009_213522

One of the things I loved about the get together was not only did i get to meet new moms I got to witness women coming together. Even though most of us knew eachother through instagram it seemed like we all clicked.  I had a great time meeting these ladies and their kids. We are planning to get together again next month. And hopefully friendships grow from our little get togethers.

Before I wrap this up I want to share a hilarious picture of Kamilah…please don’t mind her lol she is something else

20171009_213608

And I also wanted to say

Thank You! Sheislittlebutfierce.com has reached 100 followers!!! I know the numbers don’t mean anything just as long as I’m doing what I love but this is big to me. So thank you so much for making my day!

MaryaFernanada’s blog

https://mexanmommy.wordpress.com/2017/09/26/1081/

There’s a reason

When I first started this blog my intention was to solely focus on motherhood which is what I know and something that holds a big chunk of my heart. But with time that has changed a bit.’

I’ve been reading a book called Craving Connection by (in)courage community (this is spiritual book by the way)  so far I have read two chapters but they have opened up and validated a lot of stuff that I have been feeling.

The first two chapters talk about the fear that us as humans have to try new things because we fear failure. But what we need to realize is that we grow through things that may ask us to step out of the box here and there. We love our comfort zone and settle for it. And sometimes we miss the door that He himself has set up specially for us. I see a lot of successful blogs who are know to speak about one topic and hey more power to them if it works for them. As long as they are happy then hey. That’s not me though I love to talk about different things.

So when it comes to blogging my biggest fear is what people might say or think..eerr rejection if you will. Which has kind of made me stick to my home…mommy life. But as you guys see I rarely post because to be completely honest sometimes I don’t feel like talking about motherhood.

I say all this to get to this.. I want my blog to be more than just a mom blog I want it to reflect who I am not just when I’m in a mommy mode but me as an individual. Yes my kids play a B I G role in my story but theres more to me. And honestly sometimes I just want to go on random rants but feel like it wont go with my T H E M E. Which honestly isn’t a theme at all just saying. Sometimes the thought of me posting something not mom related or kid related scares the crap out of me.

So from here on out I will be talking about what I want…yes I will still share my experience as a mother because that’s the biggest role I play but I will also be sharing the spotlight with the other roles as well. I will just be adding a few things into the mix just adding a little bit of sass to the sauce you know?!

I created this blog for me and I want it to be place where I can be M E

Since I started reading this book I want to write about the chapters that speak to me the most, so be on the look out for those. I will try to get on a schedule but I wont promise anything lets just go with the flow for now.

Baby steps y’all baby steps…

-Miriam
