This Thanksgiving was a bit different for us all. I usually spend holidays with T’s family but since he’s out of town working I figured I would spend some VERY much needed time with my parents.
Out day started out with some coffee for my mom and tea for me, we talked a little and then we began to prep the turkey. Yes, we waited till the day off to prep I know a lot of people prep the turkey and some even cook it the night before but not us..no ma’am we like to do things last minute. Which leads me to my next point we then went to Walmart to get some last minute stuff.
This year I was actually in charge of cooking, in th past years I only showed up to eat lol. So my mom asked me to make some ribs, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, and dessert. I did well on 3/4 and I’m being super honest, the dessert sucked….
We got done cooking around four o’clock or so and we all ate except my dad, he wasn’t hungry. Let me tell y’all the food was delicious if I do I say myself. What made me even more happy was the fact that my family liked the food. I don’t always cook traditional Mexican dishes so to know that liked my cooking made my heart so happy.
After eating my mom and I made the craziest decision of L I F E and decided to make our war to Target because she said the sweaters were ten dollars. Which I would like make clear that not all of them were! But ya know we made the best of it. We did get a few items and the line was crazy but not that crazy. I thought it would be much worse but it was pretty calm. I didn’t have luck finding Kamilah or Noah anything, but I did get Kason a cardigan and two shirts. I got myself two basic T-shirts and one sweater and my mom got two sweaters I believe.
I loved spending time with my parents I took a few pictures here and there but I was trying to be in the moment. Noah won’t be in none of them because every Thanksgiving he goes to his dad house to celebrate with his other family.
Even tough my little family wasn’t together I want to say that I am very thankful for them. We may have not been together but we all spent our holiday with people we love. I cannot wait to see how Christmas turns out for us this year. We already have our Christmas tree up and the kids will begin doing their little DIY projects this weekend since Noah is back from his dads’ yaaayyyy!
Until next time
